Psalm 23

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters; he restores my soul.

God knows exactly what we need, when we need it. He wants to provide us with spiritual nourishment and rest for our tired souls. So firstly, he makes us "lie down", that is, God arranges times of rest for us! In our busy and often most wearying times we need to stop what we're doing and make time to feed on the greenest of green pastures - symbolic of being fed with God's good word.

The still or quiet waters "...He leads me beside" speak of refreshment and strengthening that we can only receive from God and God alone - the restoration of your soul. Here we can commune with God and focus our thanks and praise on Him, for GOD is Good!

Fact:

-The Bible is the most shoplifted book in the world. That tells us something!
